Look what I just received! A while ago I designed a conference logo for the National Association for Developmental Education (NADE). They were a nice group of folks to work with. So nice that they sent me a pin for my portfolio. Totally unexpected. Yay!!! It looks great! :)

Last month I designed a brochure for the texas after violence project. Nice of them to send me copies for my portfolio. :) Thank you!

Yay! I love SAHELI. Good people, great organization. The cards I designed for them (pro bono) for their wine event came in the mail today. They turned out great! Double Yay!

p.s. Mind my nails. They have black paint in them due to my “small” (yeah right) project. Refurnishing a Singer treadle sewing table during “me” time. ;) Pictures of that DIY project soon!

Can I say I’m an international graphic designer now? I designed this flyer/leaflet for Hossam Ramzy - a ultra uber talented musician. It was a fast collaboration - a week - because he had a specific deadline. It was fun and challenging to go through my incubation process while designing at the same time. But the results were awesome! Happy client makes happy designer. :)

Logo design is tough. It’s a visual representation of your client, their mission, their vision, and anything else they want to convey. A while back I posted one of my first drafts of this logo. Looks different, hu? I decided to go with a more solid grounding. Although the leaves don’t exactly look like a yucca, they do convey a firm base. It also creates a target effect where they draw the eyes in, upward, and downward. When I design something I study how my eyes move around and if they land on something significant. In this case: green leaves, brown stem, pink flowers, pink dot, name.
On another note, I’m urber excited that MAKEatx is creating a sign for Virginia’s office from this logo! I can’t wait to see it. Don’t worry, pictures are sure to come. :)
